Description/Background:

The proposed ordinance amends Sandy City Code § 7-1-24 to update the City’s procedures governing the acquisition, management, inventory, and disposition of municipal property. The revisions are intended to address recent changes in state law, incorporate the role of the City’s Real Property Manager, improve reporting and inventory practices, distinguish between real property and personal property transactions, and provide various improvements and clarifications.

 

Amendments made since first reading:

- Amount for "significant parcel" has been reduced from $250,000 to $200,000)

 

- Subsection h(1) was updated to read as follows: If the City desires to purchase real property valued at or less than $250,000 for the benefit of the City, the Mayor is hereby authorized to effectuate such purchase without prior approval from the City Council, provided that sufficient funds have been appropriated for that purpose.
