Description/Background:
This item is intended to serve as an opportunity for Council Members to propose to the body amendments to the FY 2027 tentative budget. Members should include their proposals in the agenda packet for council member review, present the proposal during the meeting, and answer questions from the body.


Proposals included in tonight's agenda packet include:
Council Members Christensen and Nicholl are jointly bringing forward a series of budget amendments. Please see the attached memo for more information.
Council Member Dekeyzer is bringing forward a budget amendment to fund a City Grants Administrator. Please see the attached memo for more information.
Council Member Stroud is bringing forward two budget amendment proposals. The first to fund a down payment assistance program and the second to fund water-wise park strip installation adjacent to city parks. Please see the attached memos for more information.


Further action to be taken:
Before the tentative budget can be amended to include a proposal from any Member, the Council body must vote on whether to do so. The Council may elect to amend the tentative budget to include: a proposal in its entirety, a portion of a proposal, or an amended version of a proposal. The Council may also elect to reject any proposal or portion thereof.

This evening the council may decide whether to add Council Member D'Sousa's proposal to the Budget Amendment Shortlist. If added to the Shortlist it will be considered alongside all council member budget amendment proposals at a future meeting.
