Description/Background:
The Public Utilities Department is requesting an increase in water rates. Due to the increasing costs of providing water service to Sandy City residents and in order to maintain our current level of service it is necessary to increase rates to offset inflationary pressures. An increase in rates will allow Public Utilities to continue with planned capital projects and needed maintenance within the water system.
Information on a potential water rate increase has been presented to the council and the public during the following city council meetings in 2022: 3/29/2022, item #22-085; 10/11/2022, item #22-366;
Fiscal Impact:
Amended fee schedule is attached.
