Description/Background:
At the request of the City Council, City Staff will be providing updates, facts, and materials to inform a Council discussion on affordable housing. Staff will review recent modifications to Utah Code that affect Sandy City. These modifications will require policy decisions and General Plan amendments by the Council at some point later in the year. Staff will be providing updates from internal City estimates and the Census Bureau. Following an unprecedented year for housing in Utah, Staff will also review information in recent reports from sources such as the Kem Gardner Policy Institute, Salt Lake Board of Realtors, and Utah foundation. It is anticipated that this discussion will help form the basis for future discussions and decisions by the Council.
A presentation will be attached to this agenda item as March 29th draws nearer.
