Description/Background:
The Sandy City Community Development Department is proposing a code amendment to Title 15A (Development Code), Chapter 19 (Special Development Districts), Section 15 (SD(The Gardens)) of the Revised Ordinances of Sandy City, 2008. The purpose of the code amendment is to consider repealing the SD(The Gardens) Zone, subject to prior approval of File # Zone-08-17-5291.
File # Zone-08-17-5291 proposes a rezone of property located at 1651 E. Dimple Dell Road and 1651 E. Badger Cove. The subject property is the only property in the City zoned SD(The Gardens). The SD(The Gardens) Zone was originally created for a rezone of the subject property for a specific project that was never developed. The City later became the owner of the property.
The Planning Commission reviewed this request on Sept. 21, 2017 and voted unanimously to forward a positive recommendation to approve the proposed code amendment.

The Community Development Department requests that the City Council approve Ordinance #17-26, repealing Section 15A-19-15 of the Revised Ordinances of Sandy City, 2008, as shown in Exhibit "A" and based on the finding listed in the staff report.
