City Council considering adoption of City Council Budget Priorities for Fiscal Year 2026-2027

Description/Background:
In late January of this year the City Council held a budget priorities workshop for the second year in a row. During the workshop the Council worked with a facilitator to review and update its broad priorities for the upcoming FY 2026-27 budget. Since that time staff has attempted to capture the amendments suggested by the Council and presented you with a set of draft priorities on February 24, 2026. The Council recommended one change to the draft prepared by staff within the "Fiscal Health" priority. Staff has made that amendment, and a redline is attached for your review.
This evening the council may review the amended priorities document and discuss any additional changes. Once all amendments are made, the council may approve the attached Resolution, adopting its budget priorities for the upcoming fiscal year.
Further action to be taken:
Should the Council wish to make changes to the attached priorities they may do so this evening.
