Description/Background:

Mr. Armando Alvarez is requesting to rezone approximately 0.86 acres from the BC “Boulevard Commercial District” and the R-1-7.5(HS) “Single-Family Residential District - Historic Sandy” to the MU “Mixed Use District”. The subject property is located at 668 & 660 East Locust Street. The resulting application of zoning would allow for a proposed townhome development on the subject property.

Staff recommended to Planning Commission that the proposed rezoning be approved.  On September 15, 2016, the Planning Commission unanimously recommended to the City Council to rezone the subject property from the CC “Community Commercial District” to the MU “Mixed Use District”.
