The Community Development Department is requesting that the City Council review the City's Housing Element of the General Plan, and its implementation, in order that a report can be prepared for submittal to the State of Utah in accordance with Utah Code Section 10-9a-408.

Description/Background:
Utah Code Section 10-91-408 requires that "the legislative body of each city shall biennially: (a) review the moderate income housing plan element of its general plan and its implementation; and (b) prepare a report setting forth the findings of the review." A report from Sandy City is due to the State in 2017. The Community Development Department is prepared to present housing information, including the status of moderate income housing in the City, a summary of the City's exisiting Housing Plan, and programs and activities that serve to advance the goals and policies of the Housing Plan, to the Council for review and discussion. Staff will submit a report, based on the discussion, to the State.
