Description/Background:
The City has been awarded a grant of $560,733 from state Homeless Shelter Cities Mitigation funds. The state approved this grant to fund two Police Officers and three Paramedics to better address call volume associated with the MVP facility. This resolution formalizes the appropriations and amends the staffing schedule for these positions, as detailed in Exhibit A.
The fees proposed in Exhibit B are intended to address increased costs associated with putting on the July 4th city event, and establish new vendor fees for other city events based on the size of the event.
The new fee in Exhibit C differentiates disinterment for a niche from a standard burial disinterment. The current disinterment fee is not a reasonable fee for a niche disinterment. The niche disinterment is much easier to do compared to an earthen burial.

This is an information item and a public hearing on Resolution 24-33C has been noticed for the July 30, 2024 City Council Meeting.
