Description/Background:

Last November, the residents of Millcreek Township voted to incorporate.  Currently, they are in the process of electing a new Mayor and City Council.  They also have a committe of residents and professionals assisting with gathering information and preparing items for the forthcoming City Council to review.  The soon-to-be elected Mayor has asked Mayor Dolan and Sandy City Administration for some occasional advice, expertise, and support as they prepare for this transition process to create a new city.  As a result, Sandy City Administration recommends that (1) as long as such support is nominal in nature and (2) whereas Sandy City has staff with expertise and knowledge about city operations, and (3) whereas it is in the best interests of Sandy City to have good relations with the future City of Millcreek, the city extend support to those working on the incorporation of Millcreek City.

As per U.C.A. 10-8-2, we recommend holding a public hearing to give the public an opportunity to comment on whether the city should extend support to the future City of Millcreek as a donation in-kind.
