Description/Background:
Utah Code 17B-1-304 describes the process by which appointments to a local district, such as the Metropolitan Water District of Salt Lake and Sandy, must be made. In order to comply with that process staff will take the following steps:
1. Formally notify the City Council of the vacancy (Tuesday, September 6, 2022)
2. Create and publish all public notices as required by law
3. Gather applications from all interested parties
4. Review all applicants to determined whether or not they meet the minimum qualifications for service established by law
5. Provide the credentials for each qualified applicant to the Council for review
6. Invite each qualified applicant to be interviewed by the Council
