Description/Background:  Sandy has important water initiatives whose successful completion require ongoing investment to assure a future sustainable water supply for Sandy's growth as well as resilience to weather anticipated long term droughts in future.  This briefing will provide information on these initiatives for future planning and investment consideration, including:  1. Increased water conservation  2. Aquifer storage and recovery  3. Purchase of additional water supply. 

 

Fiscal Impact:  Future water rate increase to pay for additional water supply in 5 to 10 years

Support Public Utilities administrative request to Metro Water for deferment of the Strawberry Reservoir / Utah Lake System water delivery and payment for 5 to 10 years.
