The Sandy City Public Works Department has filed a request to adopt the Standard Specifications and Details for Municipal Construction by ordinance as required by a proposed city code and current State law.

Description/Background:
The City's Standard Specifications and Details for Municipal Construction will now be formally reviewed and adopted by city ordinance on an ongoing annual basis. This is the first time this has been conducted by the City in this manner. This is now required by State Code and as required by a recent city code amendment proposal (see code amendment file CODE-11-17-5326).

Recommendation
That the City Council adopt the proposed ordinance #18-03, which adopts the Standard Specifications and Details for Municipal Construction as shown in Exhibit "B", for the following reasons:
1. The Planning Commission has recommended adoption of this document.
2. This item has been properly noticed and a public hearing has been held in accordance with the Development Code of Sandy City and applicable State laws.
