Description/Background:
On September 6, 2016 the City Council received a presentation from the City Attorney regarding an amendment to the development code allowing for the use of development agreements. The Council voted to to pursue a code change and an amendment is pending. The Council also discussed adopting guidelines on the development agreement process. Staff from the Council Office, Community Development and City Attorney's Office have worked together to draft proposed guidelines for the Council's consideration.
Recommended Action and/or Suggested Motion:
Recommendation
If a majority of Council Members find this recommendation acceptable, or the draft guideline can be amended in a way that a majority finds acceptable, staff recommends the City Council vote to adopt the guidelines. Alternatively, the Council is encouraged to discuss the recommended guidelines and provide direction to staff.
