Description/Background:

Mayor Zoltanski is proposing, for Council Advice and Consent, the reappointment of Bruce Bryner to continue serving on the Sandy City Board of Adjustment. On December 12, 2017 the City Council approved a process when considering its advice and consent for new mayoral appointments. The process included a background check, a current resume, a formal interview, and a possible closed session as permitted by state law to consider the character, competency, physical, or mental health of an individual. As this is the reappointment of a board member who has already been serving for two terms and not a new appointment, the background check and interview have already been completed. The Community Development Department has included a letter of support for the reappointment of Mr. Bryner.

Further action to be taken:

Tonight, the Council may choose to close the meeting in order to discuss the character, competency, physical or mental health of an individual. The Council will consider providing its formal consent to the candidate during a future meeting of the city council.

Recommended Action and/or Suggested Motion:

Recommendation

Any discussion of the Candidates character and/or competency should take place during a closed session.
