Administration has retained Sports Economics as a consultant to aid in future planning for the Alta Canyon Sports Center. This discussion will be facilitated by Mr. Brian Parker, Principal and National Director of Sports Economics. Mr. Parker has posed the following questions to the City Council as a starting point for the discussion.
1) What are the City’s/Council’s overall goals for the renovation of Alta Canyon Sports Center?
2) How does the City/Council define “success”?
a. Revenue generation vs. cost recovery?
b. Local vs. visitor use?
3) Are there specific recreation centers in the greater Sandy area or elsewhere that are considered “aspirational” when considering renovation of Alta Canyon Sports Center?
4) What specific components/amenities are missing from the Center that you’d like to see/have heard from constituents are important?
5) What about the Center “works” currently? What doesn’t work?
