Description/Background:

Tonight, staff is requesting a decision on Resolution 26-78C.   The Council should first determine the maximum bond proceed amount and whether any other amendments to the resolution should be made.  Once those decisions are made, the resolution may be adopted by the Council including the maximum bond proceed amount.

Once the attached resolution providing for a special bond election is adopted, administrative staff will finalize the resolution with bond legal counsel, based upon the maximum bond proceed amount determined by the City Council. Prior to the 2026 General Election, and in accordance with Utah Law, the City Council will hold the required hearings and public meetings to further gather public input regarding the issuance of the General Obligation Bonds.
