Title

City Council Office recommending that the Council make appointments to the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Committee

Body

Presenter: Dustin Fratto

Body

Description/Background:

In September of this year the City Council adopted a policy manual aimed at streamlining the City process for the creation and administration of special committees.  The CDBG is a special committee that actively participates in determining how the City uses CDBG funds.  The Council has a maximum of 7 regular member appointments to the CDBG committee and 1 alternate member appointment.  Presently, two regular members have unexpired appointments, leaving 5 openings for Council appointed regular members and 1 opening for a Council appointed alternate member.   It is the recommendation of staff that all previously serving members be reappointed to the CDBG committee including: Don Gerdy, Julie Barrus, Wade Greenwood, and Macleans Geojaja.

Should the Council decide to reappoint all previously serving regular members, there still remains 1 opening each for a Council appointed regular and alternate member, the Council should consider making appointments to these vacant positions in the near future.
