Council Member Sharkey has requested a presentation from the Office of the HOA Ombudsman. Please see the attached presentation for more information.
In 2025, HB 217 was passed and The Office of the Homeowners’ Association Ombudsman, a division of the Utah Department of Commerce, was launched. This new office supports fair and lawful governance of Utah’s community and condominium associations. The Office maintains the statewide HOA registry, issues Advisory Opinions on questions of state law, and provides education and resources to homeowners, boards, and the public.
