Description/Background:
Mayor Zoltanski is proposing, for Council Advice and Consent, the appointment of Ben Hill to serve as the Sandy City Parks and Recreation Director. On December 12, 2017 the City Council approved a process when considering its advice and consent for new mayoral appointments. The process included a background check, a current resume, a formal interview, and a possible closed session, as permitted by state law, to consider the character, competency, physical, or mental health of an individual.
A background check has been completed and the City Council has been provided with those results as well as the candidates resume. On January 6, 2026 the Council interviewed the candidate during that evenings city council meeting.
This evening the City Council Office recommends that the Council consider whether to grant consent to the appointment of Ben Hill as the Parks and Recreation Director.
