Description/Background:

Resolution 17-06C amends the staffing and compensation plan to add an appointed Management Analyst position to the City Council Office and also deletes the positions of Executive Secretary and  intern.  With the implementation of the Granicus agenda management system, the Council Office has an excess of clerical capacity.  In addition, the City Council has expressed support for adding additional analytical skills to the office staff.  This reorganization addresses both issues by reprogramming existing capacity into a higher priority function.

 

Fiscal Impact:

The expected compensation differential between the Executive Secretary position and the Management Analyst position is approximately $11,000.  The City Council Office will reduce expenses in other areas to ensure no net increase to the office budget as a result of this reorganization.

 

Future Dependent Action:

Recruitment for the Management Analyst will commence February 1, 2017 and will be open until filled.
