Description/Background:
Robert Herrera, on behalf of Latinos in Action, Inc. (Applicant), has submitted an application for a zone change of two parcels ( approximately 0.55 acres) located at 1200 E. Sanders Road from the R-1-10 Zone ("Single Family Residential District") to the PO Zone ("Professional Office"). The building was formerly owned and operated for seminary instruction by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The Applicant now owns the property and intends to use the existing building for office space. A neighborhood meeting was held on June 8, 2023.
Fiscal Impact:
It is Staff's opinion that the fiscal impact would minimal.
Further action to be taken:
The action requested by the Application is a rezone, a legislative item, being presented to the Planning Commission to hold a public hearing and to forward a recommendation to the City Council. The City Council will make the final determination regarding the Application. If the rezone is approved, a separate site plan application would be required to address improvements to comply with the Development Code.
