Description/Background:
Council Member Dekeyzer is requesting council review and consideration of his proposal to amend Chapter 2-1 (Election Rules and Regulations) of the municipal code. The amendments would address two separate issues, (1) required reporting of independent expenditures; and (2) setting campaign contribution limitations.

This is a first reading and no council action is required. Council Member Dekeyzer is requesting council review, consideration, and input regarding his proposal. This may be brought back for a second reading during a future council meeting.
