Title

First Reading: Council Member Houseman requesting feedback from the Council on her proposal to fund the rebuild of Fire Station 31with a General Obligation Bond

Body

Presenter:

Marci Houseman, Council At-large

Body

Description/Background:

Please review the attached draft resolution and be prepared to provide your feedback.

Through previous discussions of the Council, it's become apparent that Fire Station 31is nearing the end of its useful life.  The City has purchased property to rebuild the station, but we still need a way to fund the rebuild.  It's in everyone's best interest to determine a funding mechanism as early as possible so that the City has adequate time to appropriately inform Sandy residents of the process surrounding rebuilding Fire Station 31.

Further action to be taken:

The intention this evening is to gather council feedback on the attached draft resolution.  With the councils approval to move forward, Council Member Houseman will bring back a final resolution for a second reading.

Recommended Action and/or Suggested Motion:

Recommendation

I motion that we direct Council Member Houseman to move forward with her proposal and to bring back a resolution to the Council, in final form, for consideration during a business session.
