Description/Background:

This item was initially brought to the Council at the August 9, 2016 meeting.  The Council tabled action so that the ordinance could be amended to generally reflect the City's acceptance of the most current edition of the International Fire Code without reference to a specific edition.  This would preclude having to readopt subsequent versions every three years because the City's ordinance would always reflect the City's recognition of the latest version.  Legal has created a new version of the ordinance and code amendments to accomplish that goal.  However, while the ordinance is as generally applicable as possible, the City Council may need to readopt future versions of the International Fire Code should any of it's appendices change.
