Description/Background:

The City Council has historically appointed one of its Members as an official liaison to the Planning Commission.  Chapter 15A-03 of the Sandy City Land Development Code says, "one member of the City Council shall be appointed to serve as the City Council's liaison to the Planning Commission.  Such Council member shall have the right to attend all meetings of the Commission and take part in all discusssions, but shall not vote on Commission decisions."  A copy of the Code is attached.

Council staff has also provided research into other whether or not cities with the Council-Mayor form of government appoint a liaison to the Planning Commission. Those results are also attached.
