Description/Background:

Attached to this item is a memo outlining Council Member Robinsons proposal. He has also included a review of the Salt Lake City energy benchmarking program as written by Council Staff, a copy of the SLC ordinance adopting their benchmarking program, a link to the SLC Elevate Buildings website, and an overview of the Energy Star Portfolio Manager used by SLC.  He asks that you review these documents and websites to become more familiar with the energy benchmarking idea.

Further action to be taken:

During a future Council meeting and at the recommendation of the Council, Mr. Robinson would like  to formalize a biennial benchmarking program through adoption of an ordinance.

Motion to direct Council Member Robinson to work with staff, including Administration, on the biennial energy benchmarking of municipal buildings and to approach Council with an ordinance for review at a later date.
