Description/Background:
The Sandy City Council currently has a vacancy on the Metropolitan Water District of Salt Lake and Sandy Board of Trustees. Utah Code Annotated 17B-1-304 outlines the process by which Appointees to the Board of Trustees for a local district must be filled. Staff has followed the process outlined in code, and is bringing forward all qualified applicants to the Council for review at this time. Staff received just one application for this vacancy. The application comes from the incumbent appointee, Mr. Don Y. Milne.
An appointment to this Board will begin on January 1, 2022 and last for a term of four years.
Further action to be taken:
The Council may interview qualified applicants if it so desires. The Council must take public comment on this item.

Recommendation
The Council shall select a resolution representing the applicant whom they wish to appoint and make a motion to adopt that resolution.
