Description/Background:

Winslow Burton, on behalf of EmpoweringU (applicant), is requesting a change of zone district on property (2.1 acres) located at 11339 S. 700 E. from the CvC Zone ("Planned Center-Convenience District") to the PO Zone ("Professional Office District"). The subject property currently includes a building. The applicant is seeking to lease space in the existing building for an adult day care program for developmentally disabled adults, a land use that is allowed as conditional use in the PO but not allowed in the CvC Zone. A neighborhood meeting was held on June 12, 2025.

Further action to be taken:

The action requested by the Application is a rezone, a legislative item, being presented to the Planning Commission to hold a public hearing and to forward a recommendation to the City Council.  The City Council will make the final determination regarding the Application.  If the rezone is approved, separate application would be required to be submitted for review and approval of proposed improvements.
