Brief History of Prior Recommendations:

The City Council held a public hearing on this item at its August 9, 2016 meeting.  The audio file for the meeting is: http://sandyutah.granicus.com/MediaPlayer.php?view_id=1&clip_id=27, or through the Calendar tab at http://sandyutah.granicus.com.  The City Council tabled its discussion of this item until August 16, 2016.

 

Staff recommended to Planning Commission that the proposed rezoning be approved.  On May 19,  2016, the Planning Commission unanimously recommended to the City Council to rezone the subject property from SD(PO/R [R5.7]) “Special Development District” to the CC “Community Commercial District”.  Due to an improper notice of this meeting, this item was reheard by the Planning Commission on August 4, 2016. A summary of those proceedings has been provided to the City Council.

Recommended Action and/or Suggested Motion:

Recommendation

1.                     That the subject property, located at approximately 1420 E. Sego Lily Dr, be rezoned from the SD(PO/R [R5.7]) “Special Development District” to the CC “Community Commercial District” based on the two findings shown in the staff report.

2.                     To adopt ordinance #16-29 to rezone the subject property from the from the SD(PO/R [R5.7]) “Special Development District” to the CC “Community Commercial District”.
