Description/Background:
The Sandy City Community Development Department is requesting to amend the General Plan for the purpose of adopting an update to the Sandy City Civic Center Area 30-Year Development Plan, and replace it with the new Cairn Master Plan - A 25 Year Development Plan for Sandy’s Downtown District. The plan area is roughly bounded by 9000 South Street on the north, the TRAX rail line to the east, 10600 South Street on the south, and Interstate 15 on the east (with some exceptions north of 9000 South and east of the TRAX rail line).
The intent of this plan is to establish goals and principles to guide future design and development in the area. The City has been involved in the planning process for over 6 years and has worked with a number of other jurisdictions, consultants, land owners, and other key stakeholders to formulate the update to this document.
