Community Development will provide the City Council a walk-through of the proposed changes and updates to the Sandy City Civic Center Area 30 Year Development Plan (to be renamed The Cairns Master Plan - A 25 Year Development Plan for Sandy's Downtown District).

Description/Background:
The Community Development Department, in coordination with all other City Departments, has embarked on a major update to the original Local Area Master Plan for The Cairns District during the past year. Staff will present the Council with an overview of the document and the changes made to this master plan.
We'd like to share our latest draft of that plan with you (see the links below). We wanted you to have a sneak peak at the plan before we begin discussing it and before we prepare the document for public release on December 1st. There may be some minor tweaks here and there over the next week, but we don't anticipate any major changes.
We look forward to discussing this with you over the next couple of weeks, hearing your comments, and those from the general public during the public hearings. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Future Dependent Action:
This item will come before the City Council for a formal public hearing on the plan and a motion for adoption of the plan on the January 3, 2017 meeting.
