Description/Background:
The applicant, Heber Slabbert of AJC Architects (representing the property owner, Sandy City Fire Department), is requesting preliminary site plan review of a fire station within the Cairns District on a property located at approximately 9295 S. Monroe St. The proposal is to construct a two-story fire station and develop a portion of a new mid-block public street (9270 South) as part of the city’s redevelopment efforts in this Stadium Block area. This new station would replace the existing Station #31 that is located at 9010 S. 150 E.
The applicant has asked that this item be tabled to a future date to allow them more time to refine the details of the building and site.

Staff recommends that the Planning Commission table the preliminary site plan review for the Sandy Fire Station #31 located at approximately 9295 S. Monroe St. to a date uncertain.
